Dear Parents / Carers
As you know we were visited by Ofsted in May of 2017 and I am pleased to be able to share the full report here
Ofsted categorises schools as Outstanding, Good, Requiring Improvement, Inadequate and Requiring Special Measures. We received an overall judgement of requiring improvement and the report makes it very clear that the school is, following a recent dip, on a strong trajectory of improvement.
I am particularly delighted that the report confirms that my team are identifying all the key issues and are already seeing considerable success.
“The newly appointed principal… and an able leadership team, has acted swiftly to address the quality of teaching across the school. Parents have recognised the decisive actions that have been taken. The comment of one parent, that, ‘The new principal has made changes in the running of the school this academic year that I feel have further promoted good behaviour and set in place excellent opportunities for successful learning. I am proud that I chose Hartshill for my children and feel that the great education they receive will allow them to achieve their potential in life.' ” reflected the many views of parents.
Whilst we all know there is room for improvement which requires a relentless focus, it is wonderful to see inspectors noticed,
“Behaviour strategies are in place and a massive improvement has been seen" and "Pupils are safe in school and pupils overwhelmingly say that they feel safe”.
I am confident, as were inspectors that Hartshill School will receive a “Good” judgement within the next eighteen months and I would like to thank you all for the positive comments you submitted to inspectors and your ongoing support for raising standards of learning and behaviour at our school.
With every good wish,
